Footage from the Cure Blindness clinic run by Dr. Geoffrey Tabin in Ethiopia. 2017.
In one week, Dr. Geoffrey Tabin and his surgical team performed nearly 2,000 cataract surgeries for patients in Ethiopia through the Himalayan Cataract Project (now Cure Blindness Project). This short film follows the team on the ground — from the surgeries themselves to the emotional moment patients see clearly again on Reveal Day. Cataracts are one of the world's leading causes of preventable blindness, and a single surgery can cost as little as $25 in materials. Your donation helps fund more outreach trips like this one, giving people who've gone years without sight the chance to see their families again.
